Dr. Kourtney Rivers joined Bay Cities Animal Hospital in October 2009. Dr. Rivers received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Guelph and subsequently her D.V.M. degree from the Ontario Veterinary College, University of Guelph. She is a member of the College of Veterinarians of Ontario, the Ontario Veterinary Medicine Association, and the Hamilton Academy of Veterinary Medicine.
Kourtney grew up in a rural town outside of Cambridge Ontario where she spent time horseback riding, training family dogs to be entered in local fairs pet shows, fostering several puppies for service dog programs and pet-sitting many of the neighbour’s animals.
Dr. Rivers is the proud owner of two Dobermanns; Nora J and Dieter. She enjoys staying active through hiking with her dogs, swimming, squash and snowboarding in the winter months. She is also involved with Schutzhund, which is a competitive dog sport originating in Germany. She is keenly interested in maintaining a high standard of pet health throiugh preventative medicine and owner education. Special interests include behavior, internal medicine and emergency medicine.
